1. User Accounts

To access most features of Guess The Citations, you must register for an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your account and for all activities that occur under it. When creating your "Player" nickname, you agree not to use any name that is offensive, impersonates someone else, or violates any trademark or copyright. We reserve the right to force forfeiture of any nickname that violates these Terms.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• Attempting to interfere with, compromise the system integrity or security of, or decipher any transmissions to or from the servers running the Service.
• Using any automated system, including bots, scrapers, or spiders, to access the Service or submit data.
• Engaging in any activity that is fraudulent, deceptive, or harmful to other users or the Service.
• Attempting to cheat, exploit bugs, or otherwise gain an unfair advantage in the game.

3. Content and Ownership

Our Content: All content provided on the Service, including the game itself, text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Guess The Citations and is protected by copyright laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes.

Your Content: The gameplay data you generate (such as your guesses, scores, and round history) is associated with your account. As outlined in our Privacy Policy, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use this data in an anonymized and aggregated form for the purpose of displaying community statistics, conducting research, and improving the Service.

4. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time through the in-game settings, which will anonymize your leaderboard entries as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, regarding the operation or availability of the Service. In no event shall Guess The Citations be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

6. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where feasible, through an in-app notification or email. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
